          country by amending the existing provisions regarding the industry in 
          the coming Union Budget.

          India Organisation for Chemists and Druggists (AIOCD), is planning to 
          float 10 state wise pharmacy retail companies by January 1, 2008. The 
          move comes as the part of AIOCD's plans to set up 30 companies over 
          the country within two years.

          Nod For Baxter's Colleague Infusion Pump Baxter Healthcare 
          Corporation has received clearance from the US FDA on its Colleague 
          infusion pump 510(k) pre-market notification. The company is preparing 
          to modify pumps currently in the market and will soon submit 
          manufacturing and service documentation to FDA in advance of deploying 
          upgrades to US Colleague infusion pumps.

          Medical device manufacturer Polymed 
          Medicure is eyeing the US market, making it the first Indian company 
          to do so. Once the company’s plant in Faridabad gets USFDA approval, 
          it will start exporting four medical devices to the US, which accounts 
          for 25% of the global $70-80 billion medical device market. |
