FDI Inflow into Hospitals and Diagnostic Centres Grows 89% in 2023-24

Foreign equity inflow into hospitals and diagnostic centres reached $1.53 billion in 2023-24.

Foreign direct investment (FDI) equity inflow into India's hospital and diagnostic-centre sector grew by around 89% in the 2023-24 financial year. Foreign equity inflow into the medical and surgical appliances sector grew by 21.6% from the previous year.

Hospitals and diagnostic centres attracted $1.53 billion in foreign equity between April 2023 and March 2024, compared with $809.6 million in the previous year, according to Ministry of Commerce and Industry data.

During the quarter that ended in March 2024, inflow into the sector increased by 86.7% to $446.39 million, compared with $239.09 million in the corresponding quarter a year earlier.
