NPPA Revises Coronary Stent Ceiling Prices in Line with WPI Growth
The revised coronary stent ceiling prices took effect in April 2024.
The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) revised the ceiling prices of coronary stents at the beginning of April 2024, in line with the change in the Wholesale Price Index (WPI) for 2023.
The authority notified revised ceiling prices for 923 scheduled formulations with effect from April 1, 2024. The 0.00551% revision reflects the WPI change in 2023 compared with 2022.
Under the revised order, the price of a bare-metal stent is Rs 10,509.79 per unit. Drug-eluting stents, including metallic DES and bioresorbable vascular scaffolds (BVS), or biodegradable stents, have a revised price of Rs 38,267.18 per unit.
