Institute for Industrial Research (SRI) is an
independent, self sustaining, not-for-profit
multidisciplinary contract research institute
conducting research and development in the areas
of special significance to industry, government
agencies, commercial businesses and other
organizations. SRI also brings its innovations to
the marketplace by licensing its technologies and
helps in establishing production units to the
interested clients.
SRI is operational from Delhi, Bangalore and
Gurgaon. SRI's thrust areas of activities are
Materials Sciences (MSD), Analytical Sciences (MSD),
Environment Protection, Toxicological Studies,
Irradiation of Medical and Surgical products and
Quality Assurance.
The Material Sciences Division undertakes Contract
Research in the areas of:- Development of
Technologies & Products; Indiginization of
imported products; Up-gradation of existing
products/process; Technical consultancy.
The major core areas of research are:-
Polymers for Biomedical Applications; Synthesis of
Specialty Chemicals; Waste Utilization; Renewable
Resource Utilization.

Biodegradable absorbable suture; Radiation Stable
Blood Bags; Disposable Vaginal Speculum; Low Cost
Napkins; High Refractive Index Optical
Applications.

bags, Cactus Latex based products, Biomaterials,
Materials for Space Applications, Polymers for
Electronics, Hightech Adhesives, Polymer
Composites, Specialty Chemicals, Renewable
resources, Radiation based Technologies, Technical
Consultancy, Herbal Products, Waste Utilization
etc.
The ASD(Non-Bio Group) provides prompt and
dependable analytical services in the fields of
metal and minerals, rubber and plastics, building
materials, leather and textiles, petroleum
products, paper and home appliances & chemicals.
The Biosciences Group provides services in the
areas of agro chemicals, residue analysis, food
and pharmaceuticals, and Microbiology. It also
undertakes toxicological studies to establish
safety levels of chemicals by experimentation on
animals of models of human biochemical, physical
and pathological responses. SRI also provides
Calibration services. SRI's Environment Protection
Division conducts research on various aspects of
Environment including Biological Impact Studies,
Rapid Environmental Impact Studies and
Comprehensive Environmental Impact Studies.

Applied Radiation Centre, SARC established with
the technical assistance of BARC conducts research
in Polymer based modifications and processes and
undertakes irradiation of Life saving medical and
surgical products and spices.
