Institute has a track record of working together
with industries for technology transfer and
successfully placing on the market over a dozen
medical devices and implants such as mechanical
heart valve, blood bags, blood oxygenator,
hydrocephalus shunt, bioceramic orthopedic
implants, dental composites etc.
Opportunities exist for industries to work with
Institute for new technology development in
multiple modes by sponsoring research, having
collaborative programmes, preclinical and clinical
evaluation projects, Know-How transfers etc.
Industries are welcome to visit the Institute and
discuss specific projects of interest.
TESTING &
EVALUATION
We are accredited
by Le Comite Francais d'Acreditation (COFRAC) of
France to meet ISO 17025 quality system and offer
testing services for biological evaluation of
materials as per ISO 10993 standards. Our
Facilities include:
Biomaterial Evaluation: UV-Vis
Spectrophotometer, FTIR Spectrophotometry, Thermal
Analysis, Gas Chromatography, High Performance
Liquid Chromatography, X-ray Diffraction,
Mechanical Characterisation (UTM), Electron
Microscopy
Biological Evaluation: Cell culture,
Toxicology, Histopathology, Microbiology, Blood
Compatibility
We also carry out
preclinical evaluation of cardiovascular devices.
