An Italian company
that produces and sells, via its worldwide
distributor network, monofilament polypropylene
meshes for hernia repair and female urinary
incontinence. The Herniamesh founder is prof.
Ermanno Trabucco, excellent surgeon and creator of
the now famous hernia repair technique
“Tension-free” of the same name.
Herniamesh
prosthesis are the consolidated result of decades
of research and development by Prof. Trabucco in
the field of hernioplasty, thus ensuring an
anatomically and functionally correct product.
The central,
absorbable section of the meshes for female
urinary incontinence, rather, renders the T-Sling
range, created and patented by Prof. Arnaldo
Trabucco, urologist and son of Prof. Ermanno, is
unique and innovative.
Herniamesh makes use
of a strict scientific collaboration with the
academic and hospital spheres via important
Universities and Research Centres, maintaining its
high level company profile and its product quality
level.
Herniamesh
guarantees the quality of its products by
dedicating careful attention to each stage of the
production process within a certified Quality
management programme.
All the products are
manufactured with respect to the objectives of the
Herniamesh Quality System, in conformity with UNI
EN ISO 9001:2000 and UNI EN ISO 13485:2004, bear
the CE markings released for the purposes of
Appendix 2 to the European Directive 93/42/CEE,
and the approval 510(k) released by the FDA for
sale on the US market.
Products:
Pre-shaped meshes Hertra
Meshes used in reinforcement
surgery of soft or weakened tissues. The
pre-shaped "Hertra" meshes offer convenience and
incomparable quality. They are suitable for the
repair of INGUINAL HERNIAS via open surgery. Their
anatomically correct design makes them ready to
use, without further remodelling, therefore
contributing to reduced wastage.

The HTR01 and HTR02 meshes are
suitable for the repair of male inguinal hernias;
the eccentric eye is in an anatomically correct
position for the passage of the spermatic cord.
The HTR2A mesh is used for female inguinal
hernias.

The pre-shaped Hertra is suitable
for suture-less repairs, adapting well to the
underlying tissue and never wrinkling. Soft
pre-shaped meshes are difficult to handle; they
must be sutured, and there is a 20% chance that
they will wrinkle and tend to crease. The mesh
must be of the right rigidity to achieve a correct
hernioplasty using the Trabucco technique:
"Suture-less Tension-free".
Three-dimensional, round based
plugs T2
Ideal for the repair of
recurring inguinal hernias via open surgery.
T2 plugs, as in the T3 version, with the tip
joined to the base, do not tend to shrink as, for
example, in other known plugs available on the
market, in which, due to a hollow interior,
fibroblast encapsulation may occur only partially.
The rounded tip of the T2 plug is more rigid than
the base, does not cause blood vessel compression
and adapts to every dimension of the hernial
defect. The base reinforces the tissues around the
defect and, if sutured, helps to prevent
recurrence deriving from possible plug migration.

Three-dimensional rectangular
based plugs T3
Plugs used in surgery to
reinforce soft or weakened tissues such as hernia
repair.
Ideal for the repair of recurring inguinal hernias
using the pre-peritoneal approach in open surgery,
and the laparoscopy approach in cases in which
there is significant destruction or presumed
weakness of the rear wall.

Pre-shaped meshes T4 R
Round, pre-shaped meshes (5
cm diameter), rigid or semirigid, with eccentric
eye.
Suitable for indirect, medium-large inguinal
hernias: they reduce the dimensions of the
expanded internal inguinal ring and reinforce
surrounding tissue

Pre-shaped meshes T5
Meshes with eccentric opening
used in reinforcement surgery of soft or weakened
tissues. Suitable for inguinal open repair and may
also be used in laparoscopy. In association with
Hertra pre-shaped meshes, they are ideal for the
repair of male inguinal hernias where there is
significant destruction or presumed weakness of
the rear wall, the distance between the two meshes
being anatomically adjustable in the way best
suited.
