ELEKTRON – All
Electric Injection Moulding Machines
The Green
Machine
It is a widely
known fact that all-electric injection molding
machines operate cleanly, quietly, precisely
and economically. The processor’s purchase
decision is determined by criteria such as
economy, productivity, versatility and user
friendliness, as well as a good
price/performance ratio.
The Drive
Concept and the Operation Philosophy
In ELEKTRON
series, Ferromatik Milacron relies on
tried-and-tested, standardized drive concepts.
Thus, for the movement of the main axes, it
uses ball-screw and belt drives. Here,
Ferromatik was able to build on the Milacron
Group’s years of experience with such drives
and observe the long term behavior over many
years.
These drive
concepts are characterized by long-term low
maintenance costs. The ball-screw and belt
drives are comparatively inexpensive
components, whose exchange and assembly is
facilitated by the modular construction of the
machines.
Economic
Justification
Saving in energy
is the most talked about benefit of All
Electric machine technology. Saving in
material due to narrow range weight variation
in molding equally improves economic viability
of ELEKTRON, complementing savings in energy
costs.
The technical
reason for high level of weight consistency
and precision of molded parts is: Plasticizing
screw remains mechanically connected to the
drive, it allows undiminished flexibility in
speed profiling and swiftest, precise change
over from fill to pack and hold by stopping
the movement actively and thus faster than any
passive mechanism.
Currently,
ELEKTRON models are available in 50, 110 and
155 tons clamp force with combination of
different injection units. |
