New technological
innovation in the treatment and diagnosis front; growing ageing population
and shifting disease pattern, which needs long term medical care and
diagnosis are some of the major factors that drive the growth of global
medical devices market. The widespread applicability of Medical Devices has
resulted in continual growth.
It is estimated that
medical, dental and surgical equipment may constitute the largest segment
with about 40-50%; plastic and disposables about 25-30%; and the remaining
20-25% may constitute implants and medicated implants.
